From the Office

March ushers in the season of spring. Flowers will bloom and the rain will end, hopefully. We are hoping for many sunny days ahead. Before we check ahead in our monthly activities, we would like to say a few thanks, to everyone who showed up with Valentines cards and gifts. We felt loved. Thanks to Ms. Maria Llamas for arranging the lovely snacks for the students. The chocolate dipped fruits were enjoyed by all.

The activities for this month include Dr. Seuss’s birthday and St. Patrick’s day. St. Patrick’s day will be celebrated on March 16th this year. We will enjoy many green things are school. The students should wear green, in order to avoid getting pinched from a Leprechaun. (Just kidding J)

The week of March 19th is Montessori week, and we will celebrate that in honor of Maria Montessori.

Each class will be doing special projects to decorate the school as we prepare for Open House.

During that same week, we will have a book fair, hosted by the Scholastic Book Club.

With April right around the corner, we are getting ready for Easter, so the book fair makes a perfect gift.

May you enjoy the sights and sounds of the spring season.

Until next month

The month of February was so much fun for the students. A super thanks to all the parents for making our Valentine’s day so special.

For the month of March, all the children will be busy making art work to decorate our class for Open House.

For Dr. Seuss’s birthday, we will make hats, and enjoy a snack of Green Eggs and Ham.

The letters for this month are Hh, and Ii, and the numbers for the month are 6 and 7.

Some gentle reminders:

1) Please remember to order lunches by 10:00 AM if your child is coming in late.

During February we learned the importance of regular dental care and a healthy heart.

Our young friends also had a lot of fun exchanging Valentines and enjoying a special Valentine’s day lunch and snacks. Thanks to all the parents for providing us with the delicious treats and food for all of us to enjoy.

Let’s take a look at the month of March. This sure will be a busy month for us.

We have planned to do activities to honor the life and work of Dr. Maria Montessori, for her dedicated efforts for early childhood education. We will be showing off projects using different Montessori materials.

We also plan to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday by reading his books and doing activities related to his work. Also, we are going to learn about spring, and the changes in weather and the flowers that will bloom.

Parents, make sure you come to our Open House and enjoy some of the work done by your chilld.

Have a nice month of March everyone, and a wonderful spring to all.

Elementary

We were kept on our toes with a lot of actvities the entire month of February, with it being such a short month. We learned about President’s day, celebrated Valentine’s day, and studied about some African American heroes.

During March, we will cover the following topics: Drug awareness, and Dr. Seuss’s birthday. We will read his books, and the students will do a book report on their favorite Dr. Seuss book. We also have planned activities for St. Patrick’s day.

Our theme this month is nutrition, and the students will learn about good eating habits and make a collage of healthy foods.

To welcome spring, we will do a planting project. Details will follow.

Thanks to all the parents for the Valentine gifts and potluck.

Have a great month.
